Admission to an Undergraduate Degree Program

There are two requirements for admission to UVic's graduate school.

You must meet the minimum admission criteria (see below) established by the School of Graduate Studies. Additionally, you must meet the specific program requirements of your department.

Admission to a Master's Degree Program 

Completion of a four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) at a UVic accredited institution  Equivalent to a minimum 'B' average in the previous two years of degree completion or below Specific requirements for your degree program.

Admission to a Doctoral Program 

Requirements specific to your program of study or equivalent qualification below If so, you may be considered.

• A degree.
• Average of the last two years of the Bachelor's program All course-specific requirements  Language skills  To attend UVic, you must demonstrate proficiency in English.

Language Proficiency Requirements for the University of Victoria

The University of Victoria (UVic) requires proof of English proficiency from applicants whose first language is not English or who have not completed previous education in English. The university accepts a variety of English tests, including  TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), and Pearson English Test  (PTE Academic). Specific credit requirements may vary by program and level of study. It is important for applicants to visit the program's website or contact the admissions office for the most up-to-date information regarding English proficiency requirements.
