Admission Requirements

• Submit your application: Prospective students must complete and submit an online application through the UIC admissions website. Applications typically include personal information, educational background, and answers to essay prompts
• Transcript: Applicants must submit an official high school transcript demonstrating completion of a college preparatory curriculum. Transfer students must submit transcripts from all previously attended universities.
• Standardized Test Scores: Although UIC has a test-optional policy for undergraduate admissions, applicants may still choose to submit SAT or ACT scores. However, these results are not required for approval review. 
• Letter of Recommendation: UIC generally does not require letters of recommendation for admission to undergraduate programs. However, certain programs and scholarships may require it.
• Personal Statement/Essay: Applicants often submit a personal statement or essay that provides insight into their academic goals, extracurricular activities, and personal experiences. 
• Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee is required to submit a application. Depending on financial need, tuition may be waived for eligible students.
• Deadlines: UIC has specific application deadlines for each admission semester (Fall, Spring, Summer). Adhering to these deadlines is essential to ensure that applicants are considered for admission.
